BEGINNER KIDS MARTIAL ARTS CLASSES
NOW ENROLLING !

FUN, FRIENDLY, CHALLENGING AND A SAFE ENVIRONMENT. INTERNATIONAL MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY IS WHERE CHILDREN LEARN MARTIAL ARTS, GAIN CONFIDENCE, IMPROVE FOCUS, AND INCREASE SELF DISCIPLINE AND RESPECT.

It’s not only kicking and punching! IMAA uses martial arts to teach the principles of respect, self-discipline, and perseverance. As kids learn and better themselves in martial arts they become more confident and transform to the FUTURE leaders of tomorrow.

If you looking for your child to learn how to defend themselves, become more confident, and stay in shape at the same time, look no further. IMAA Ft. Lauderdale is a school that combines the philosophy of Martial Arts with a new age approach to give kids the confidence and principles they need to be successful.

Kid's learn a variety of benefits, including:
• Motor skills and muscle memory
• Confidence in themselves
• Respect for others
• Learn to say “NO” to negative peer pressure
• How to overcome challenges
• Rock Solid Goal Setting
• Developing Black Belt Principals

As our students learn to better themselves physically they begin to gain confidence, perseverance and other Black Belt Principals which translate into other aspects of life.
In addition, parents love how we take the belt system and martial arts philosophies and relate them to the child’s life. Children are taught the martial arts lifestyle, goal achievement, and then importance of working hard to choose success.

OUR KIDS PROGRAM INSTILLS A CURRICULUM THAT REINFORCES SOCIAL, ACADEMIC, AND FAMILY VALUES!

Dear Parents,

My name is Sensei Daniel Ruocco. I have been training in martial arts since I was 6 years old, in Europe, Japan and the USA. I've been professionally teaching children just like yours for over 25 years, and I’ve spent countless hours focusing our Martial Arts Classes on things that all parents want for their children. Things like Focus, Confidence, Discipline, and Independent Motivation – Life Skills that International Martial Arts Academy students use every day in their school classroom, at home and everywhere they go.
We will teach your child new, unique, awesome skills that they can’t learn anywhere else. What we REALLY do is teach our students Self Discipline, Self Defense and Confidence as part or our core curriculum.
We don’t force Self-Discipline on our students, but instead slowly build discipline through fun class drills, group exercise dynamics and our engaging 'Kids Martial Arts Curriculum'.
Self Defense: We teach our students to avoid confrontation and not to use martial arts outside the Dojo. Let me be very clear. Of course we teach them how to physically defend themselves, but, FAR more important, our Martial Arts classes teach them to emotionally defend themselves from the challenges they’ll face in everyday life!
Confidence: There is no better confidence than "Martial Arts Confidence"! Before you know it, they’re standing proud and showing confidence in their eyes, no-one is going to mess with them! Priceless!
We know for a fact that your child will "WANT" to learn these vital life skills. Not because we "MAKE" them, but because our professional instructors and super-high energy, engaging classes set your child up for success by using our IMAA Success Cycle System.

It REALLY is that simple, and it REALLY is that effective.

Welcome to our Dojo!

★★★★★ Family loves IMAA. We have four members of our Family currently training there. The atmosphere is focused, clean and positive. It really is a Martial Arts Family feeling. We attend several classes a week and as parents have seen so may improvements in our children since joining. They are all working hard to achieve their goals. Improvements in attitude, fitness, attention, flexability, self confidence are some of the few things we are seeing. The dojo is clean, safe and full of positive vibes. The instructors are kind, tough, strong and have a real gift working with. The kids truly look up to them and respect them. Sensei is a true gentleman and we are impressed with his leadership, As parents we are not the only influences in our children's lives. School and extra curricular activities will also influence them greatly and we are so pleased with the role models IMAA have been to our kids so far. I would highly recommend this academy to anyone looking to do something positive for themselves or their kids. There is no stopping us, we can only hope our kids will go all the way to Black belt here with IMAA.

★★★★★ Wonderful Academy! They are organized and consistent with the kids. The instructors go the extra mile to keep kids engaged. Sensei is an awesome role model and the kids look up to him - he commands respect by showing respect to others. My two boys - ages 4 & 6 - are learning self control, respect for others, and if they put in the effort, they get a reward that was earned with hard work. In addition, they get exercise of both the body and the mind! I have tried other karate schools, but this is the best!

★★★★★ When my son started martial arts he was in Tae Kwon Do but he did not enjoy going to class because they never worked with him to make sure that he was doing everything the right way. He stopped going when he was a purple belt. We were looking to find a school that would teach him the right way when we found IMMA. When he tried the first class and he learned how to throw and take down his opponent he was hooked. After he started in Judo Jacob was not that confident or that coordinated, but with every class he is getting so much better. He is very protective of his friends and family and feels confident that he can protect them. His school work has improved so much since he started. He has gone from C's and B's in regular classes to, now all A's in honors classes. He really enjoys going to class and strives to get better. His goal is to get his black belt. He loves learning the weapons. I researched the history of Judo and Jujitsu and found them to be one of the best forms of self defense. When you look up who wins in mixed martial arts competitions you find the judo practitioner is almost always the victor. Yes even over BJJ. The founder of BJJ learned Judo and Jujitsu in Japan and changed it a little and that is BJJ. Sensei Ruocco is a very good teacher. He has the vision to see how the sport and the art is evolving. He has incorporated other styles like Muay Tai known for powerful striking to better round out the art and make the curriculum a more complete system of self defense. Yes it may cost a little bit more than some other places but the student is receiving more in my eyes.

The Czerniawski Family

★★★★★ Dear Sensei Ruocco,In November 2012, our family walked through the doors at International Martial Arts Academy and my son, Anthony, took his first class. Anthony was being bullied at school at the time & this prompted us to finally let him try Martial Arts. Little did we know, it would have such a far reaching impact on him. Anthony was diagnosed with ADHD, OCDs, Turrets, and Acrophobia (an irrational fear of his feet leaving the ground) since he was a toddler. For years, he was medicated with every ADHD drug out there & he had every horrible side effect imaginable. It was terrible, but the doctors said he needed the medications & we followed his advice to control Anthony's ADHD. He was always jittery, constantly disruptive in class, and had poor grades and medications seemed to work, but his grades still suffered. The Acrophobia was so intense, he couldn't climb stairs or ladders, he couldn't stand on a chair or foot stool, and we couldn't even pick him up off the ground to carry him. It took years for the therapists to get him to simply climb a ladder and go down a slide on a play set. It was a slow, ongoing battle that's been going on for about 9 years. When Anthony took his first class, he loved it so much that we enrolled him and he started in December. A month after he started at IMAA, we had had enough of the horrid side effects caused by all the medications & we took him off all of them. The first few months was very rough for him and the teachers who had to constantly keep him on task. At first, his grades were still suffering, but Anthony had become the child we knew before all the drugs had blurred his mind. It was at that point that my husband and I agreed we would never give him medications for ADHD again. He struggled to get good grades, but managed to pass to 7th grade. By the time school started up again in August, 2013, Anthony was an enthusiastic half-orange belt. Some kids have highs & lows, which leads to them loosing the desire to do Martial Arts, but not once has Anthony slipped into that dreaded low point. He is always passionate & ready to go to class when it's time to leave and it is because you, Sensei Ruocco, and your staff are always friendly, smiling, encouraging, caring, & eager to teach. If Anthony has a problem he won't discuss with us, you are always listening with warmth & understanding. IMAA has taught him not only how to defend himself but when to defend himself & when to walk away. The techniques he learns helps him focus his mind, body, & soul. I watch the classes & see how helpful & attentive the staff are on a daily basis. When students struggle with a move, someone is right there helping them until the student understands how to execute the move correctly. Anthony looks forward to reading the Lesson of the Week; it is inspiring, powerful, & self-empowering. He no longer fears climbing ladders, and has enough confidence to jump over hurdles on an obstacle course without being scared of his feet leaving the ground. One thing still worried us though. Would he be able to transfer over what he was learning at IMMA into his daily life, especially at school? Our answer to that question came when the grading period for the first semester ended & I checked his final grades on the school's website. I was so astounded and cried tears of joy. Second grade was the last time we had seen A's & B's on his report card so if you had told me a year ago that my son would be an Honor Roll student in 7th grade without medications, I would not have believed you. He went from a C & D student in 6th grade to getting 4 A's & 2 B's in the first quarter of 7th grade! With the second quarter ending soon, he is once again going to make the Honor Roll. I have watched Anthony literally & figuratively make leaps and bounds in life because of IMAA! He is more focused, respectful, stronger, braver, his Acrophobia doesn't inhibit his life now, and he no longer depends on those horrible medications to help him focus. You have helped him find his focus. I firmly believe that none of this would have been possible if it weren't for you and the amazing & attentive staff at IMMA. You are an extension of our family now and will be for many years to come even after Anthony has achieved his goal of Black Belt. I can't stress enough to people how life changing Martial Arts at IMAA has been for Anthony or how much you, Ms. Carli and rest of the team mean to our family. We always feel as if we are part of your extended family too. We can't thank you enough for being a part of our lives and helping Anthony achieve so much within his first year- Thank you!Sincerely,The Czerniawski Family

P.S.: To all the parents out there: If your child wants to learn Martial Arts or if they suffer from ADHD or other ailment or they just need to learn to be more respectful, & you are at your wits end, I strongly urge you to try Martial Arts at International Martial Arts Academy. It will be a life changer for your child and your family.
