Mixed Martial Arts with Tradition
NEW beginners classes NOW FORMING

WHETHER YOU WANT TOTAL FITNESS, MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING OR ULTIMATE SELF DEFENSE, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, THE IMAA MULTI-STYLE JUJITSU SYSTEM PROGRAM WILL TRANSFORM YOU TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF CONFIDENCE, HEALTH AND HAPPINESS!

The Multi-Style Martial Arts Adult Program provide our students with a well-balanced “street smart” personal protection system. Most of the style of martial arts tend to focus on just individual areas of self defense. Practicing a combination of the best of the best styles gives IMAA students the edge they need to overcome any obstacle or attack situation.
Our adult martial arts program strongly based on Judo and Jujitsu. Two of the most effective and well known martial arts from Japan. All Police departments and Military use these martial arts for their special force and personal protection programs.
When we say Jujitsu we obviously mean traditional Jujitsu, the art of the Samurai (Not Brazilian Jujitsu). Judo was created by Professor Jigoro Kano. Prof. Kano mastering several styles of Jujitsu and in his youth he began to develop his own system based on modern sports principles. In 1882 he founded the Kodokan Judo Institute in Tokyo where he began teaching and which still is the international authority for Judo. Professor Kano eliminated some of the deadly Jujitsu techniques and changed training methods so that most of the moves could be done with full force to create a decisive victory without injury.

"Judo is many things to different people. It is a fun sport, an art, a discipline, a recreational or social activity, a fitness program, a means of self-defense or combat, and a way of life. It is all of these and more."

Learn More about Judo here:

At the International Martial Arts Academy all students will learn a complete Judo and Sport Jujitsu.

★★★★★ The instructors are incredible, they are very good with all there students and truly care about them. It has a family feel that is very welcoming to both new and existing students. They work to develop the students physically, mentally and spiritually. I highly recommend this Dojo for anyone looking for a school that provides traditional Judo, Jujitsu and Muay Thai classes.

★★★★★ I wanted to thank Sensei Daniel on having such an outstanding Martial Arts facility and program. When I was interested in finding a school for a friend of mine,I checked out several in the area. Yours by far was the best that I observed. After bringing my friend to classes for two months, I can only say the you have the best program and school in the South Florida area. The professionalism of the teachers along with the varied program offers the most complete and well balanced Martial Arts experience that I have personally seen. Keep up the great work and I'll be sure to recommend you and the school whenever I can in the future. Regards, Dan K │ Senior Account Executive

★★★★★ I need and want to thank Sensei Daniel Ruocco. If it wasn't for him, I would not be here writing about my experience. He saved my life. On August 14, 2008, I was attacked by someone who I once knew as a friend. I am a 5'4", 145 lb. woman. My assailant was 5'11" and about 200 lbs. He clearly loomed over and severely out weighed me. He was intoxicated and I didn't realize it until after I had allowed him entry to my home. Once I realized his condition, I asked him to leave. He then decided to make some unwanted advances and suggestions that forced me to demand on no uncertain terms that he leave immediately. These demands on my part infuriated him. Before I could realize what was happening he had struck me and I was on my back on the tiles of my kitchen floor. He was trying to strangle me. I froze for a moment, thinking to myself 'How can this be happening?! He's supposed to be my friend! This CAN'T happen!' and then another voice, a clearer, stronger, calm voice with frigid ferocity said 'No. It's not going to happen. You know what to do. You're TRAINED to know what to do.' Once I snapped to, I gave my assailant a quick strike to the face that startled him and caused him to lean back just enough for me to place a push kick in the center of his face and to throw him off of me. What happened then for the better part was a blur, but a huge fight did ensue. I remember striking him with an elbow across the right cheek, a left hook to the chin/lip, a knee to the abdomen, a roundhouse to the ribs as well as a good number of judo throws, mostly tai otoshi and ippon seoi nage. It was after one of, actually the last tai otoshi, that my assailant exposed his back to me and sat up in an attempt to catch the wind that had been knocked out of him. When he did this, I was able to apply a choke that Sensei taught me. The particular name escapes me now. I managed to drag his body out my front door and lock him out. I then frantically searched for the battery of my cell phone (He'd thrown my phone against the wall and the battery flew out to who knows where). During that hysterical search he started pounding on the door demanding I let him back in. When I refused he then decided to call the police, claiming that I was the one who had assaulted him. I thought he was lying and called his bluff. He really should have been bluffing, for when the police arrived, they smelled the alcohol on him and once I allowed them into what once was my home and they saw not only the shape it was in, but also the one I was in, they arrested him and charged him with felony battery. I had a few wounds from the whole thing; a split lip, a puffy eye, a headache (from where he hit my head against the tile while trying to choke me) cuts, bruises and what ended up being a permanent scar across my left cheek where he struck me and cut my face open. He on the other hand was sent to the hospital with a split lip, black eye, a sizeable gash across one of his arms and ribs, 3 broken fingers, 2 fractured/ 1 broken rib and a bruised larynx, from where I had applied the choke. The police and paramedics after hearing about how he had sustained his injuries told me that they had no doubt in their minds that had it not been for the training I had received in Martial Arts that it most likely would not have been a felony assault scene that they would have been called out to, but one much more severe... So that's it. That's my story. I had to leave South Florida shortly after this happened to pursue a new career opportunity that has so far proven to be a great thing for me, but I still wish I could be back and the dojo and training under Sensei Daniel, to whom I an forever endeavored to. I still train. As I travel from city to city I find a school and I train and I always astonish the teachers with what I know, all of which I learned from Sensei Daniel. I can't emphasize enough the importance of knowing martial arts. I can't emphasize enough that all women should know martial arts or at least some sort of self defense. And above all, I absolutely CAN NOT emphasize enough how important it is to find not only the right school, but the right teacher to teach you those things and how to use them. International Martial Arts Academy is that school. Sensei Ruocco is that teacher. I should know. They made it possible for me to be here in order to say so.
